Chaotic Silence

Very different from the city I used to live, I now find myself surrounded by nature. In a beautiful landscape sculptured by millions of years of plate tectonics and erosion. It  offers rough rocks bordered with rolling hills and deep valleys through which the river Rhine carved its way. It is these colour fields and line games that offer me countless compositions. I also find inspiration in natural growth patterns, and the beautiful forms that only nature really creates. In an abstract way all this reflects back in my objects. Besides that I am intrigued  by how we respond to emotional experiences such as memories, loss and sense of belonging. Our invisible internal conflicts with emotions and personal history make us who we are. These experiences and sensibility also reflects in my work.  When I look at my work I see a mixture of chaos that yet exudes a certain calm. Chaotic silence.
